Legal Notice and Data Privacy
Collection and Processing of Personal Data
When you visit our websites, our web servers automatically save the IP address assigned to you by your Internet Service Provider, the website from which you visited us, the web pages that you visited here, as well as the date and duration of your visit. Personal data will only be stored when you voluntarily provide us with this information, e.g., within the scope of registration, a survey, a contest, or for the execution of a contract.
Usage and Dissemination of Personal Data and Limitation of Use to Specific Purposes
Daimler uses your personal data only for the purposes of the technical administration of the website, customer administration, product surveys, and marketing only to the extent required for each, respectively. The transfer of personal data to government agencies and authorities is carried out only within the scope of compulsory national regulations. Our employees, agencies, and retailers are obligated by us to maintain confidentiality.
We would like to use your data in order to inform you of our products and services and, where applicable, to ask you about them. Of course, participating in such activities is voluntary. If you do not agree with this, you can inform us about this at any time so that we can exclude your data accordingly. You can find additional information on the respective web page.
Daimler uses so-called “social plug-ins” (hereinafter: buttons) from social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and Google+. When visiting our website, these buttons are deactivated by default, i.e., they will not send any data to the respective social networks without intervention on your part. Before you can use these buttons, you first need to activate them by clicking on them. The button will stay active until you deactivate it again or you delete your cookies (for more information about this, see “Cookies”). After they have been activated, a direct connection with the server of the respective social network is established. The content of the button is then directly transmitted from the social networks to your browser and is integrated into the website from your browser. Please note that we have no influence on the scope of the data that is collected from the social networks via their buttons. Please see the data protection notice of the respective social networks for more about the purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and usage of the data by the respective social networks, your rights regarding this, as well as the settings for protecting your privacy. After activating a button, the respective social network can begin collecting data regardless of whether you interact with the button. If you are logged into a social network, this can associate your visit to this website to your user account. A social network will not be able to associate visits to other Daimler web pages unless you have also activated the respective buttons there as well. If you are a member of a social network and do not want this network to link your saved member data to the data collected during your visit to our website, you must log out of the respective social network prior to activating the buttons.
Daimler uses technical and organizational security measures in order to protect your data managed by us against manipulation, loss, destruction, and access by unauthorized persons. Our security measures are constantly improved according to technological developments.
Right to Information
Upon request, Daimler or the representative responsible for you will inform you in writing as soon as possible pursuant to applicable law whether we have personal data relating to you saved on our systems as well as the nature of these data. If you are registered as a user, we offer you the option of viewing the data yourself and deleting or modifying these if necessary. If incorrect data has been saved despite our efforts to ensure that the data are accurate and up-to-date, we will correct these upon your request. If you have questions regarding the processing of your personal data, you can contact the corporate data privacy officer, who, together with his team, is available in the event of information requests, suggestions, or complaints.
